What a fantastic evening! From the off Ken had me hooked! He really knew his stuff and was a fantastic tour guide! No money required up front but there is no question about wether you would pay or not it was well worth the money!
I'll be back in the winter months to really add to the eariness. Many thanks Ken you were excellent!

Dicky was amazing. My friends and I enjoyed the tour so much, and have been suggesting it to all our friends in our summer program. It was totally worth it for us to go to (we came all the way from Oxford for the evening just to go!). Great information, very amusing, and even though a lot of walking we didn't mind at all!

Fantastic tour on 16th of July. we've been on tours like this before but this was way ahead of the rest, I learnt more about whitechapel and the area and about the murders on this tour than any other.
Dickie was the guy that took us around that evening and he was great, he chatted to almost everyone and told us little known facts and sayings. great night and well worth £7 each well done.

i had a wikid time on my 20th birthday last saturday doing the tour!!! Not what i expected at all! The group wasnt too big, but the jokes were awful! haha! But i got lots of information and all my friends really enjoyed themselves, and id recommend it to anyone, although you really should go in the winter where it'll be darker whilst your on the tour to add to the effect! Thanks a lot steve-o! xxx

I've lived in and around London almost all of my life but Ken showed us a whole new side of it that I'd never seen. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours with a fascinatingly macabre theme and a great storyteller.

07 July 2008

Lindsay & Richard, Ipswich (now London)
After living in Whitechapel for sometime and being aware of the Jack Ripper connection with the area, we finally got around to taking the tour - it was well worth the wait!
Our tour guide Dickie was awaiting our arrival and we set off bang on time. Dickies charisma and knowledge immediately drew us in and took us back in time to 1888. Suddenly the streets we had walked down on a dialy basis took on a whole new light and will never be the same again!
A great evening that doesnt cost the earth. A good way to get out and about in London. Fantastic delivery from Dickie; brought this old tale back to life. Thanks.

Kerri, Melbourne, Australia
I have been living in London for a year and have always wanted to do the tour. I wish I didn't wait so long. It was brilliant.

I am tempted to go and do it again!

Dicky was our tour guide he's brilliant. He really knows his stuff. His knowledge (of the ripper and London), combined with presentation style and humour really made the tour.

I didn't know anything about Jack the Ripper before, but there were people on the tour who knew lots and I think we were all catered for.

A definite must!

Request Dicky

We stumbled across this tour by accident, but so glad we did!
After a great day at the Tower, we were just entering the tube station to return home when we noticed Dickie gathering a crowd.
I've always been interested in Jack the Ripper, but Dickie really brought the story to life. He was full of information and really seemed to know the details and locations.
I would definately recommend this tour, was a great end to a great day!

Ken was awesome. We had a really great time walking the streets and getting a real feel for the horrors experienced back in the 1800's. We had a real laugh with Ken who was a genious! He made the tour so much more enjoyable than we could have imagined. Thanks, the girl in the blue scarf from Wednesday night..

This tour was the best ken showed us around white chapel, we read about the ripper murders and wanted to see the area, we were not disappointed Ken was so good with the explanation very knowledgable. top tour so far.

The guide (Dickie) really brought history and the locations we visited to life! Would recommend anyone visiting London, was far more professional than many other tours we've been on. :)

We went on a tour with Steve, we loved it. He was very funny (and we did laugh at some of his jokes) and he was very knowledgeable. The two hours just flew by and we would recommend this tour to everyone.

28 June 2008

Ian Muir, Kent
Steve was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.

The tour was great and we were very surprised how many of the little cobble streets and original buildings are still there today within the shadow of the city. We had a great time and plan another tour later on in the year. I been on many tours and this was one of the best tours to date.

Thanks. Christine and Ian

We went on this tour the other night with Ken, it was great. Not only was it interesting but it was fun. Ken gave all the greusome details of the Murders and passed on local knowledge as well. Ken was very proffessional, He made sure that all of the group was involved this is not to be missed if in London. We reccomend it 100%. Good look Ken Next time we will come to the Tower of London.

Kevin was superb--funny, educated, personable, couldn't ask for better. I have already recommended the tour to a baker's dozen of my friends and family. I traveled through five countries in three weeks, and this tour made it onto my list of top five things to do in Europe. Definitely will return.

Thanks Kevin!

04 June 2008

Jennifer Cardona --EF TOURS FLORIDA GROUP!, Orlando, FL
Where to I begin...

It was part of our personal itinerary that we MUST go on this tour when we got to London. To our pleasant surprise we had Dickie as our tour guide for this WONDERFUL AND SCARY trip down history's past.

He took the groups on this specific tour around White Chapel, all of EF TOUR's from Florida [my group!], Alabama, and Idaho but made the experience just as intimate as if dealing with a small group.

He was SO amazing, entertaining, knowledgeable, and made our experience everything we had been hoping for. This was an American group that wanted to go to this infamous tour and was not disappointed! So professional and focused on retelling these stories, and so much fun! I can't say enough about Dickie!

We ended up running into him also at the Tower Of London, and he was so kind and welcoming. He never forgot our faces! I hope he will read this, because really, he made The Jack the Ripper tour the HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP!

If you want to be scared and educated on the terrifying history of Jack the Ripper and if you're in London, go to this tour and REQUEST DICKIE!! HE'S AWESOME!

27 May 2008

Jessica and Victoria, kent
done this tour on saturday. found it by acident. but it was excellent. Ken warned us about the heckklers that we might bump into and was right. but he was very proffessional and got on with it, in fact it added to the drama. do this tour. best value we have had for our money.

27 May 2008

26 May 2008

Eric Carlson, Chicago
I am from Chicago but living in London for awhile, and had some friends over. Despite having just done the tour 2 months ago when my parents were over, took 4 friends who were in town. Kevin did not disappoint. All 5 of us had a great time and learned a lot. Kevin should not have to buy the beer at the end of year Beefeater party!!

I'm really glad my daughter talked my wife and me into taking the tour. Kev provided an outstanding tour with great entertainment and numerous facts thrown in for fun. This definitely was the highlight of our brief visit to the UK.

We went on this tour with Ken, Fantastic what a story he tells with passion. all in the group thought it the best thing that they have done. Do not go on any other tour. Ripping Yarns is tops.

26 April 2008

Jessica, London, UK
I was on the Saturday tour with Dickie and it was excellent. My feet killed by the end of it! But it was really interesting, building on a topic I was already interested in and had a little knowledge about. I certainly feel more connected to the real people now! Thanks.

24 April 2008

Christie Vanderloh, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada
I went on the April 13th tour with Steve. I found it to be very interesting, informative and entertaining as well. Steve did a wonderful job of painting a vivid picture of life in 1880's London and the sort of lives the women who were Jack's victims lived. I will be recommending this tour to anyone who goes to London.

22 April 2008

Anne & Brianne, Bolton
Did the tour on Sunday 21 April with Chris. Was worried about picking the wrong tour as I booked on the internet and had no recommendations. Didn't need to! Tour, and Chris, was great. Very informative, and fun, and burnt off lots of calories! Saw other, very large, bored looking groups traipsing round and soooooooo glad I picked this one. Will certainly recommend to anyone visiting London. Thanks Chris for transporting us back in time to 1888, see I did learn something 'in the nick of time', and bringing us safely back to Tower Hill and 2008.

14 April 2008

Janice, Manchester
We did the tour with Dickie on Saturday night and it was brilliant, the highlight of the weekend. Thanks very much.

06 April 2008

THE REED FAMILY, Essex, England
We did the walk last evening (5/4/08) with Kev and he was brilliant. Very informative with the odd corny joke thrown in, he certainly knows his stuff. Remember to cover your face if you see a rat!!

04 April 2008

Rob, London
Steve was brilliant. Very funny guy (we'll ignore the odd bomb here and there).
Great tour. Well-described and informative.
Don't worry about the unresponsiveness of the group.
That's no reflection on the great job you did mate.
Will keep an eye out for you in the Tower.

02 April 2008

AdamD , Oakland, CA
The tour I took, led by Dickie, was the highlight of my trip to London. I was a little apprehensive about going on a walking tour, but the fact that you pay up after the tour set me at ease. Totally blew me away. The length of the tour (two hours), the neighborhoods I wouldn't have thought to explore, and his telling of the story all made for a top notch experience. I went on a Haunted London walk from another group a few days later and it didn't measure up at all.
This is by far the best.

01 April 2008

Erin, New York, USA
Kev is an awesome tour guide and I guess his jokes are okay too =)

01 April 2008

Q. What do you do on a cold easter friday evening.
A. Go on a Jack the Ripper Tour.
Yes it was cold and dark, all the better for visiting the east end of london. We can assure you that this tour is well worth it, our guide Ken was excellent. He gave us the full low down on Jack and put in some extras. we will be back to go again and visit the Tower of London at the same time. A+++

24 March 2008

Ali, Whitechapel
3 years living in Whitechapel, drinking on occasion at the Ten Bells, dodging the odd rat and having several overseas friends telling me I should do this tour...What a brilliant evening! (although cold)
Kev was a fountain of interesting knowledge and the jokes - not too bad!
I will definitely be recommending THIS tour to others -especially in the summer.
Thanks

17 March 2008

Rachel & John Fenwick, Shropshire/Durham
Mark was outstanding as a guide. Of all the comments he states at the start of his tour, "fun" is definitely the word of the evening. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer, and his enthusiasm for the subject was infectious. We were so impressed, we diverted from our itinery the next day to see him in his usual garb as Yeoman Warder. Highly recommended. Can't imagine any other tour would be as thorough or as entertaining.

15 March 2008

Visited London a few weeks ago and went on the tour with Mark (of the Awesome Hat). Very informative and very professional. He knew how to keep the group together and safe, how to address everyone, how to get his information across, and was over all very entertaining and interesting. To all my friends visiting London, I'm suggesting they check out your tour.

09 March 2008

Kev was bloody Great! a wealth of knowledge and made the whole Jack the Ripper experience well worth the cold of london. Will be bringing our foreign friends to see Kev again when they come later in the year. Cheers Big Ears!

08 March 2008

Greta, Pidder, Gustav & Viv., London
Dickie, great tour, we all very much enjoyed the evening.

04 March 2008

Sean Miller, Glastonbury
I went on one of your tours several years ago - the tour guide was a retired Beefeater and it was an excellent evening which I thoroughly enjoyed. At the time I'd been reading a lot of Ripper books and as we walked I found it fascinating to run some of the theories off the well-informed guide.

A couple of years ago I decided to try another tour, this time with a certain company who do tours and have a thick white leaflet. Not only was the magic not there, the guide aloof and appearing to be working to a script but when the tour ended I was abandoned somewhere in the middle of Whitechapel... it took me ages to find my way back to a tube station.

So be warned those who go for the other because their leaflet is everywhere - you'll be getting an inferior product.

01 March 2008

Jenna, Meg and Aine, Cornwall, Wales and Kerry
Dickie,
Don't be going to Cork now...Kerry is far superior.
Twas an amazing experience, we were enthralled by your awesome presence. We're all too scared to walk the streets of London now, due to your intense story telling!
Catch us if you can...............mwhahahahahahaha

On the afternoon of 4th February I took 27 of my History GCSE students, all aged 15, on the tour. Our guide was Kevin and he was fantastic; the students were totally engrossed and thoroughly loved the whole experience. I have highly recommended this tour to many friends and colleagues, it was sooooo good! I will definitely return next year with another group of students as I have written in into the scheme of work as an essential educational visit. Thanks a million Kevin, even if your 'jokes' were a bit suspect!

21 February 2008

Barbara and Ariel Maldonado, East Longmeadow, Massachusetts
A bit overdue in writing about our tour with Kevin....It was absolutely wonderful. We realize that Kevin does the tours, probably in his sleep, however, he gave us a tour as if it was his 1st with excitement and enthusiasm. With a group of 15 or so..it was ideal...We passed several large groups along the way who looked quite bored. They were not able to hear the guides who appeared to be lackluster and rote.......Thanks, Kevin...Have a great pic of you and the tour @ home.....

Did the tour on Thursday 7th with Dickie as the guide. A well conducted and informative tour from a Beefeater who is knowledgeable and has a quick witted sense of humour.
Although we really came for the Tut Exhibition at the O2 the tour was the highlight of the break.
I will recommend the tour to everyone plus include website links to anyone who is interested. Will definately do the tour next time we are back.

Thank you for for a great evening.

Sunday 10th February. We had Dickie as our guide, he was great, full of information, both about Jack and other parts of london.

It was an amazing experience to walk along cobbled streets knowing that Jack had once walked those same streets looking for victims.

I can fully reccomend the walk, wear some comfy shoes and enjoy the experience.

13 February 2008

Darren Cook, Brisbane, Australia
What a great night! I went last Sunday the 10th. Dickie was a seasoned professional and certainly knew his stuff. Trying not to put people off but I didnt get a good night's sleep afterwards, maybe it was the picture Dickie painted that made my blood turn to ice. Well worth it

We did our tour on Monday 10th December. Our guide for the evening was an informative Mark. It was a very interesting tour with extra bits of 'gossip' thrown in as well.
Mark, it appears you are right, your not mentioned much on the guest book - perhaps you need to continue torturing more of your guests to get mentioned!
Good value for money, good fun, highly recommended.

I went on this tour with Dickie almost a week ago, and I was so busy traveling I didn't get a chance to fill out this form. I must say it was amazing though! I had a great time, and learned a lot. It was a good sized group, so I was able to hear everything clearly. Also, Dickie did a great job of pointing out other random spots of importance, such as Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter movies. Thanks a ton! I've recommended this tour for several of my friends, and I will possibly be returning with my mom in a few weeks. :)

10 December 2007

Absolutely brilliant! Our guide (Simon) was an amazing and knowledgable guide who wove a story of intrigue and conspiracy in the to tale of the 'Ripper'.

I would higly recommend this tour as it was very good value for money. Only negative was that the tour was a little longer than anticipated (finished at 9.30!) and we were starving hungry!

I went on the Ripping Yarns tour twice while living in London in 1999, and still enjoy the CD "The True Story of Jack the Ripper" I bought back then. I'm glad to see the tour grow and I think they are the best around.

Keep working hard simon, we felt relaxed in your company.

Simon was our guide last night for the tour. I would like to say that he was very good, excellent in fact. Very informative and very dramatic. He was a very friendly and approachable person who did not mind us asking questions. Even though I was born and bread in the area I learnt quite a bit about the East End of London last night, and will certainly recommend the tour to friends and work colleagues.
A big Thank you to Simon.

Great tour with Dickie, two weeks ago. Full of information rather than needless scare tactics. Shows that he cared about the info he was giving out. I've already given the tour details and contacts to my travel agent so others too can enjoy the tour.

Yes, I agree with the theory Dickie presented at the tours end.

Dickie "in the middle" was our very excellent tour guide. He gave us an interesting and thorough trip through the back alleys and underbelly of London. He made Victorian England come alive with all it's dark and murderous side. Though graphic, it was informative and very very entertaining! Thank you Dickie for being the icing on our "anniversary trip" cake to London.

Dickie was a FANTASTIC tour guide tonight - he brought the story alive with his excellent delivery. We were very impressed with how organised he was with all his photos and props. Thank you very much. We think your theory with the anagram is correct!

My fella Gary & I went on the tour on Sunday and we had a fabulous time! There was a fair amount of people there however, our tour guide was more than accomodating; keeping to an easy pace and speaking clearly enough for us to hear. He even opened our eyes to Harry Potter's Diagon Alley (a hidden gem of London's East End!!). Very creepy in some parts and incredibly eye opening to some of the facts I never knew existed. I strongly recommend this tour!!

We've already recommended the tour to friends coming over from Detroit & also to our local friends there in Essex! Keep having fun with it!

I couldn't resist the idea of a tour of Whitechapel. I've read different books on the subject over the years and being my first time in London.... I had seen the poster by chance getting off the tube at Tower Hill.
The guide, Kevin. So my thanks to you Kev for a great tour with loads of info and some pretty funny stuff as well. I can't say what the other blokes are like but if they are half as good as Kev then you've all got a pretty good thing going.

All the best to you Kev and keep up the great work both with this and your day job.

Simon says........ lol. Thank you Simon for last night's tour. Whilst I have lived in London all my life, the tour was made entertaining and informative by the knowledgeable and very affable Simon. An introduction to the 'story' of The Ripper for my two daughters who found it very interesting. Despite Simon taking every opportunity to scare the living daylights out of my younger daughter, she was heard to comment half way round the tour 'why can't history lessons at school be this interesting' !! Praise indeed ! Well done to Ripping Yarns and Simon.

I went on this jack the ripper walk when I were in London in April this year. I really loved the walk but the stories were grose :P but it was a bother that I have to translate everything for my classmates, that was one of the reasons that I don't know everything so this year I will come back to follow the tour :P But the tour was great but I won't recomment it to people who don't speak english:D
greetings from Holland

Did the tour on the extremely wet night of 14th August, despite the weather it was well worth it.....in fact the grim weather may have added to the ambience!. I have read a lot of Ripper literature and to see the proximity of key places was great, the image which was provoked outside the "prostitutes church" was especially moving,.....well done steve!!!

We had the best time touring around with Kev. He is extremely entertaining and a very nice person to spend time with. The tour exceeded all our expectations. We knew it was going be good, but this was honestly far better than any of us expected. Very informative and his jokes are hilarious lol. We suggest if you are EVER going to spend time in London and you are thinking of something to do, go to Tower Hill at 6:45pm and you'll have a great night. We all learned alot about Jack the Ripper, the history of London and a little about Freemasonry. Very entertaining night and we even got a picture of ourselves with the awesome Kev!

We are a little late with our comments, however, on the night of April 2, 2007 we had a totally awesome experience walking the east end of London with our brilliant Jack the Ripper tour guide!! I plan on doing the tour again when I return to London. This experience was one of the top best in my several visits to London. Standing outside the church where the Ladies of the Evening in 1888 would walk for business was rather emotional for me; just knowing what they had to do to survive. The tour also gave us an inside view of what life was like if you were a single female in those days. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

we could not believe that we live here in south london and on our door step is this exciting tour of the east end, we went around the white chapel area with ken (beafeater) from the tower no less. it was a great night he was excellent full of info if you do not do this you will miss out

went on this tour with ken he also works at the tower of london, we just turned up without booking and followed him around, it was exciting and informative. we will tell all our friends and family who are going to visit that this is the one.

Marsha, Manitoba, Canada
Ken was an amazing guide. We were with a small group but he made it very exciting and informative. He kept us entertained with extra trivia tidbits as well as all his Jack the Ripper knowledge. We really appreciated that he guided us back to the tower as our friends were not so lucky with another tour group and they were just left in the east end to fend for themselves. We STRONGLY recommed this tour to anyone even if you know nothing of Jack the Ripper, you will when you are finished. Thanks Ken!

Dickie is a masterful storyteller. He kept us in suspense for the entire 2 hours of the tour - we hung on his every word. This is a "must-do" for anyone interested in what life was really like during Victorian times in London. Bravo!!

01 July 2007

Mary Rebelo, Hertfordshire England
Spent 2 hours in the company of Dickie on the last day of June 2007. It literally poured with rain the whole time but we were hanging on every word Dickie said. He was great at taking you back to Victorian England and it was amazing standing in all these places where these events took place. Its a very brave thing to not take money from the customers until the end but its a sign of just how good this tour is that everyone paid up without a murmur, we were all still in shock from finding out Dickie's theory about who Jack the Ripper was and most shockingly who he was allegedly working for.
A brilliant value for money way to spend 2 hours.

Fantastic! Kevin gave our group a terrific tour. I had taken other walks in London before and this was by far the best one!!! I think we all left with a sense of enjoyment, a bit of b
